Salama AI Platform

Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has just launched “Salama,” a new AI-powered digital platform designed to make residency services faster, smoother, and completely paper-free.

What is “Salama” and How Does It Help?

“Salama” is basically a smart digital assistant that allows residents to renew visas, cancel residencies, and get answers to their inquiries within minutes. No more long forms, no unnecessary delays—just a quick and seamless process.

Users can log in using their existing GDRFA credentials, meaning there’s no need to create a new account. Once inside, they can submit their requests and even complete payments instantly. It’s all about making the experience as hassle-free as possible.

Why This Matters

At the official launch event, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of GDRFA, emphasized how “Salama” is not just an upgrade, but a revolution in the way residency services are handled.

“We’re not just making services digital—we’re making them smarter and more accessible. ‘Salama’ is designed to save time and simplify the process for everyone, in line with our vision of a seamless, innovative Dubai.”

Part of Dubai’s Bigger Digital Push

Dubai has been making huge strides in digital transformation, and “Salama” fits right into that vision. Colonel Khalid Bin Mediya Al Falasi, Assistant Director-General for Digital Services, explained that the platform supports Dubai’s long-term strategy for smart government services, as well as the UAE’s Vision 2071 goals.

The aim is simple: faster, more efficient government services with minimal human intervention. This isn’t just about convenience—it’s about ensuring that Dubai remains a global leader in digital governance.

What This Means for Residents

With “Salama,” handling residency-related matters will be as easy as booking a flight or ordering food online. Whether you need to renew a visa, cancel a residency, or just check your application status, you can now do it in minutes rather than hours or days.

Dubai has always been at the forefront of innovation, and “Salama” is just another example of how the city is making life easier for its residents. Expect to see even more smart government services rolling out in the near future—because in Dubai, the future isn’t just coming.
