Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed that vehicle owners can now register their brand-new vehicles online without the need to visit a service center.
This confirmation aligns with the city’s ongoing efforts toward digital transformation, making everyday tasks faster and more convenient. Instead of waiting in line, residents can now complete the entire registration process seamlessly from their laptop or phone.
How It Works
The process is pretty simple. Buyers of new vehicles just need to log into the RTA website, upload the required documents, and wait for approval. Once everything checks out, the vehicle registration card (Mulkiya) is issued electronically.
What you’ll need depends on your residency status:
- For UAE citizens and GCC nationals – Emirates ID, customs certificate, sale agreement, and in some cases, a vehicle conformity certificate.
- For UAE residents – Emirates ID, customs certificate, and sale agreement.
- For those living outside Dubai – A letter from the employer’s Dubai branch might be required.
- For businesses and free zone companies – Trade licenses, authorization letters, and corporate documents are needed.
A More Convenient System for Car Buyers
For many people, buying a new car is exciting—but the paperwork? Not so much. That’s why this online service is a big deal. It not only saves time but also reduces congestion at RTA service centers.
Dubai has been making huge strides in digital government services, and this is just another example of how things are getting easier for residents. With more services moving online, the city is taking another step toward becoming one of the world’s most efficient, smartest cities.
