The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is returning for its 34th edition, set to take place from April 26 to May 5, 2025. Hosted at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, this year’s fair highlights the emirate’s ongoing commitment to promoting culture, literacy, and sustainability in reading.
With the theme “Knowledge Society… Society of Knowledge,” the event will present more than 2,000 diverse cultural and literary activities designed to appeal to all age groups and interests. These programs aim to strengthen the role of reading in community development and to expand the presence of Arabic language in the digital era.
This year’s fair is expected to be the largest yet, featuring over 1,400 exhibitors from more than 90 countries. Notably, 120 of these exhibitors are participating for the first time, reflecting significant international interest. The event will also include dedicated spaces for universities, government institutions, author-publishers, and publishing support initiatives.
The Caribbean has been named as this year’s Guest of Honour, offering visitors a rich glimpse into the literature and culture of the region. Additionally, the fair will honor one of history’s most influential thinkers, Avicenna, highlighting his impact on science and philosophy. Visitors can also enjoy programming centered around the classic tales of “One Thousand and One Nights,” celebrating the enduring magic of Arabic storytelling.
In alignment with broader national initiatives, the fair will also launch a new campaign to encourage sustainable reading habits within the community. The goal is to nurture a deep and lasting reading culture that supports both individual and societal progress.
This year’s event is not just a book fair—it’s a dynamic cultural gathering that promotes dialogue, education, and innovation, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s role as a global hub for knowledge and creativity.
