As part of its ongoing efforts to promote community partnerships and cultivate a culture of reading, the Mohammed bin Rashid Library has donated 1,000 books to Iskan, a subsidiary of Sedra Group and part of Abu Dhabi Ports’ Economic Cities and Free Zones sector. This generous contribution falls under the library’s “Path of Knowledge” initiative, aimed at bringing cultural resources directly into residential communities.

The book handover took place during a dedicated event held at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, attended by key representatives including Ali Jumaa Al Tamimi, Director of Libraries at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, and Issa Al Hamiri, General Manager of Iskan. Both sides highlighted the importance of such collaborations in building a knowledge-driven society and deepening ties between cultural institutions and the private sector.

“We firmly believe that access to knowledge is a universal right,” said Al Tamimi. “The journey toward a reading society begins by making books a natural part of everyday life. With ‘Path of Knowledge,’ we aim to integrate literature into the heart of residential areas, creating a generation that values knowledge as a fundamental human and developmental asset.”

Iskan echoed this sentiment, expressing gratitude for the cultural initiative. “At Iskan, we understand that quality of life goes beyond infrastructure and services,” said Al Hamiri. “Creating spaces that inspire learning and curiosity is vital, and we look forward to expanding our collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Library to enrich the lives of our residents.”

The collection of donated books spans various genres and languages, including works by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, offering valuable insights in Arabic and English. The initiative is expected to reach up to 100,000 residents across Iskan-managed communities, which collectively house up to 140,000 people—demonstrating a significant social impact and expanding access to diverse educational content.

With this initiative, both the library and Iskan are reinforcing their shared commitment to fostering an informed and culturally enriched society.
