This week, the UAE closed its participation in the 2025 Beijing International Book Fair on a high note, showcasing creativity, culture, and connection. Nestled in the heart of the city, the “Emirati House” pavilion—organized by the UAE Embassy in Beijing alongside the Ministry of Culture—buzzed with life, drawing in curious visitors eager to glimpse the country’s cultural pulse.

His Excellency Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, the UAE Ambassador to China, shared how proud he was of the pavilion’s reach: “It wasn’t just about books. We offered a snapshot of the UAE’s cultural ecosystem—its diversity, innovation, and intellectual momentum.” In his eyes, the pavilion underscored the depth of UAE–China relations and the many bridges being built in the cultural space.

A highlight that captured the crowd’s attention was the visit from Li Shulei, a high-ranking Chinese official. His tour through the pavilion—flipping through Emirati publications, exploring joint cultural initiatives, and engaging with the exhibitors—sent a strong message: cultural collaboration between the UAE and China is alive and thriving. He even complimented the pavilion’s layout and the imaginative way the content was presented.

This presence at Beijing’s book fair reflected more than just glorified booth design. It spoke to a wider UAE strategy—showcasing Emirati voices on the world stage, bringing together authors and thinkers, and forging lasting partnerships in arts, literature, and ideas.

This year’s fair was massive: over 1,700 publishers from 80 countries, more than 220,000 titles, and more than 300,000 attendees from 110 regions. Against that backdrop, the UAE proved to be more than a participant—it was a vibrant storyteller, connecting across cultures and captivating audiences.
