Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, together with Dubai Industrial City, recently hosted an enlightening workshop aimed at empowering local manufacturers to accelerate their global presence, enhance exports, and embrace cutting-edge technologies and sustainable energy solutions.
The event, part of the ongoing “Dubai Industrial City Dialogues,” brought together industry leaders and key stakeholders from Dubai Industrial City. It aligns with the ambitious objectives of Dubai Economic Agenda D33—including export growth, productivity improvements, enhanced competitiveness in the manufacturing sector, and attraction of international businesses to Dubai.
For over 20 years, Dubai Industrial City has stood as a pivotal business cluster within TECOM Group, catalyzing the region’s manufacturing landscape.
Saud Abu Al-Shawareb, Executive Vice President of TECOM Group’s Industrial Sector, highlighted that the visionary leadership of Dubai and the UAE has established solid foundations for the national industrial sector. He emphasized Dubai Industrial City’s role in strengthening public-private collaborations that drive economic diversification.
“Our vibrant community of global and regional manufacturers continues to attract foreign direct investments to Dubai and the UAE,” Al-Shawareb noted. “This reinforces the ‘Made in UAE’ brand and enables its global reach. We remain deeply committed to empowering companies to realize the goals of the AED 300 billion Industrial Project, the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ initiative, and the D33 economic agenda.”
The workshop’s agenda included informative sessions on Dubai’s Export Support Program, its Energy-Friendly Initiative, and discussions on enhancing national value and embracing the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Launched by TECOM Group in 2004, Dubai Industrial City has strategically shaped the future of manufacturing and logistics in the region. Today, it hosts over 1,100 clients—including leading global and regional manufacturers—and more than 350 operational factories.
Thanks to its strategic positioning near Jebel Ali Port, Al Maktoum International Airport, Etihad Rail’s freight terminal, and major highway networks, Dubai Industrial City offers businesses exceptional access to a vast consumer market. From this hub in Dubai—an internationally renowned trade and tourism center—two‑thirds of the world’s population is within an eight‑hour flight radius.
