Growth in Ridership
Dubai Metro has witnessed exponential growth in ridership since its inception. Launched in 2024 with completion targeted for 2029, the new line will add another 30 kilometers and 14 stations to the metro network. It is set to serve nine vital districts with a combined population of nearly one million people.
This line isn’t just about coverage—it’s also about innovation. It will include Dubai Metro’s first-ever bridge over the historic Dubai Creek, stretching 1.3 kilometers. It will also feature iconic stations with futuristic designs, including the largest underground interchange station in the network, capable of handling up to 350,000 passengers per day. Moreover, the Blue Line is being built to meet platinum-level green building standards, supporting Dubai’s wider goals for environmental sustainability and a green economy.
