Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, the 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) kicks off today at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event runs through October 2.

Organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), WETEX 2025 welcomes 3,100 companies from 65 countries, backed by 68 sponsors and 18 partner and supporting institutions, covering 95,000 square meters of exhibition space across 18 international pavilions.

A Vision for Sustainable Excellence

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and Founder of WETEX, highlighted that the event reflects the UAE’s proactive approach to shaping the future through innovation and sustainability. Inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, he emphasized that the exhibition is not just a platform for showcasing technologies — it is a global hub for driving progress in energy, water, and environmental sectors.

WETEX plays a strategic role in supporting the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the UAE Net Zero Strategy 2050, as the country accelerates its transition toward a low-carbon, innovation-driven economy.

A Global Stage for Innovation

This year, WETEX features a significant international presence, including the largest-ever delegation from China with over 260 participating companies. Other major national pavilions, such as Germany’s, showcase advanced technologies in energy efficiency, solar power, water treatment, and smart city infrastructure.

The exhibition also puts a strong focus on artificial intelligence, smart mobility, circular economy practices, and green construction. It provides a platform for companies to demonstrate how digital innovation and sustainability go hand in hand.

Strategic Partnerships Driving the Future

The event is supported by leading players across various sectors, including Masdar, TAQA, ENOC, Siemens, ACWA Power, and more. Their participation underlines the importance of cross-sector collaboration in achieving sustainability goals.

Executives from key organizations emphasized that WETEX serves as a catalyst for change — not only by showcasing cutting-edge technologies, but also by encouraging dialogue, fostering partnerships, and creating pathways to real-world solutions.

Building a Smarter, Greener Tomorrow

WETEX 2025 stands as a symbol of Dubai’s commitment to leading global efforts in sustainability, innovation, and future readiness. By uniting policymakers, innovators, business leaders, and industry experts under one roof, the exhibition reaffirms the UAE’s position as a regional and global leader in sustainable development.

As the world navigates the challenges of climate change and resource management, WETEX continues to be a crucial platform for envisioning — and building — a better, smarter, and more resilient future.
