Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a temporary closure of key roads this Sunday, November 2, as part of safety and traffic arrangements for the Dubai Ride 2025 cycling event. The road closures will begin at 3:00 AM and continue until 10:00 AM.
Roads Affected:
- A portion of Sheikh Zayed Road between the Trade Centre Roundabout and Al Hadiqa Bridge
- The lower deck of Financial Centre Road (between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road)
- One direction of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard
These closures are designed to ensure the safety of thousands of cyclists expected to take part in the event.
Alternative Routes:
To minimize disruption and ease traffic movement, the RTA is encouraging drivers to use these alternative routes:
- Upper Financial Centre Road
- Zabeel Palace Road
- Al Wasl Road
- Al Khail Road
- Al Asayel Street
Commuters are advised to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time if they need to move around the city during the closure window.
Temporary Changes to Salik Toll Rates:
Alongside the road closures, Salik has introduced special toll rates for the day to better manage traffic and encourage smoother flow:
- Morning Peak (6:00 AM – 10:00 AM): AED 6 per crossing
- Evening Peak (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM): AED 4 per crossing
- Off-Peak (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, and 8:00 PM – 1:00 AM): AED 4
- Late Night (1:00 AM – 6:00 AM): Free of charge
These updates are intended to ease congestion and provide flexibility for drivers during the event.
Important Reminders:
The RTA and Salik urge the public to stay informed about the road closures and toll changes, and to plan their journeys in advance to avoid delays. These measures aim to:
- Ensure participant safety during the Dubai Ride
- Maintain traffic flow on surrounding routes
- Support a smooth and enjoyable experience for both residents and visitors
By coordinating these temporary adjustments, Dubai continues to support community health initiatives and large-scale public events while maintaining efficient traffic management.
