Dubai Police Enhance Children’s Community Awareness at Sharjah Book Fair

The Dubai Police took part in the 44th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair with a special platform designed for children, aiming to instil values of awareness, responsibility, and national belonging among young attendees. The initiative integrates interactive games, digital competitions, and engaging stories to encourage positive behaviour and a deeper understanding of safety and civic responsibility from an early age.

Zainab Hussein, Editor-in-Chief of Khalid for Children, a magazine published monthly by the Media Security Department of the General Directorate of Community Happiness, highlighted that this participation reflects a long-term media vision dedicated to shaping the values of future generations.

She emphasized that Dubai Police are committed to impactful participation that conveys meaningful messages in a simplified and enjoyable manner. The goal is to teach children about discipline, respect for the law, and a love for reading in a way that resonates with them. “Security awareness starts in childhood,” she said, “and it’s our duty to play a role in shaping that awareness with creativity and intelligence.”

This year’s pavilion was developed based on research into children’s interests and learning preferences, ensuring that the content aligns with interactive and playful educational methods. The experience merges entertainment with learning, offering both physical and digital formats of the magazine, along with a variety of engaging activities.

Dubai Police’s participation includes awareness quizzes, competitions, souvenir giveaways, and a special edition of Khalid for Children released specifically for the event. The presence of the beloved character “Officer Mansour” adds an element of fun, as he delivers important safety messages in a way that captures children’s attention.

Additionally, the pavilion features the “Ambassadors of Safety” council, where representatives engage directly with children to raise awareness about children’s rights, cyberbullying, and negative digital behaviours. These interactions use storytelling and dialogue to reinforce key messages in an accessible, memorable way.
