Emirates is preparing for a major leap in its Premium Economy offering, aiming to double its capacity from 2 million to 4 million seats in the upcoming financial year. This move reflects the airline’s continued investment in providing more comfortable and flexible travel options for its global customer base.
The expansion comes as Emirates expects to receive up to 19 new Airbus A350 aircraft, all equipped with the Premium Economy cabin. In addition, more of its existing A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft will be retrofitted with this increasingly popular class.
Premium Economy is now available on over 100 Emirates aircraft, serving approximately 70 cities worldwide. The cabin offers travelers a more spacious and refined experience, featuring generous legroom, upgraded dining, and enhanced onboard comfort — making it a preferred choice for those seeking better value without the full premium fare.
The upcoming financial year, beginning in April 2026, is expected to be a turning point for this product. Emirates plans to introduce Premium Economy to even more destinations, expanding beyond long-haul routes to include more cities in the GCC, Middle East, Europe, and Asia.
By mid-2026, the airline aims to operate Premium Economy-equipped aircraft on over 80 routes, offering passengers more flexibility and comfort across its network.
The airline also reported strong passenger demand across its network, particularly during the 2025 holiday season, with average load factors exceeding 85%. As international travel continues to rebound, Emirates is positioning itself to meet evolving traveler preferences with a focus on premium service and expanded choices.
Dubai also remains a top destination, with more passengers choosing the city as their final stop rather than a transit point, thanks to its global appeal and vibrant tourism sector.
