The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) continues its efforts to strengthen direct engagement with the community through its interactive initiative, “Closer to You,” launched at Global Village. The initiative reflects GDRFA’s ongoing commitment to its “Customer First” approach and aims to provide a service experience rooted in face-to-face interaction and responsiveness.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA-Dubai, accompanied by Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General, along with several senior officials and executives, visited the platform. They were welcomed by Zeina Dagher, Senior Vice President of Operations at Dubai Holding Entertainment – Global Village. The visit underscores the leadership’s hands-on approach in closely monitoring the implementation of strategic initiatives and strengthening its direct connection with the public.
The “Closer to You” platform drew strong engagement from Global Village visitors, who showed significant interest in the direct services offered by GDRFA—particularly the Golden Visa and Smart Passage (Red Carpet) services. Visitors had the opportunity to ask questions and receive accurate information in an open, interactive setting, enhancing their overall experience and building greater trust in GDRFA’s services.
This platform serves as a comprehensive model that blends service delivery, education, and interactive experience. It aligns with GDRFA’s vision of offering innovative services that meet people where they are, helping to foster sustainable relationships based on transparency and positive engagement.
Running until February 5, 2026, the initiative offers visitors a unique and accessible way to explore GDRFA’s services—reinforcing the organization’s commitment to being, always, “Closer to You.”
