The United Arab Emirates has once again secured a leading position when it comes to quality of life, ranking first across the Arab world and 21st globally in the 2026 World Happiness Report. The report, which assessed 147 countries, reflects the country’s ongoing efforts to create a supportive and fulfilling environment for people to live and thrive.

Released by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network in partnership with Gallup, the report looks at several factors that shape people’s overall sense of happiness. These include income levels, life expectancy, personal freedom, social support, generosity, and perceptions of corruption.

With a score of 6.8, the UAE continues to demonstrate a strong balance between economic growth and social well-being. This result is not just about numbers, but about the country’s consistent focus on policies that put people first and aim to improve everyday life.

The UAE also performed impressively in several key areas. It ranked fourth globally in terms of individuals’ freedom to make life choices, Economically, it placed eighth worldwide in GDP per capita, reaching around $70,000, which highlights the strength and stability of its economy.

In addition, the country ranked 19th globally in generosity, pointing to a culture where giving and community support are deeply valued and widely practiced.

This achievement reinforces the UAE’s reputation as one of the more stable and forward-looking countries in the world. It shows how a clear vision, combined with continuous investment in people, infrastructure, and innovation, can create a place where quality of life and happiness are not just goals, but a reality experienced by many.
