Dubai Taxi has announced the launch of its autonomous vehicle service in partnership with Baidu, marking a strategic step toward expanding smart mobility solutions in the region.

The service will begin with an initial fleet of 50 autonomous vehicles in its first phase. There are plans to gradually expand the fleet, with the number expected to exceed 1,000 vehicles over the coming years.

Residents and visitors in Dubai will be able to book self-driving rides through the Apollo Go app, which is available on both the App Store and Google Play. As the service grows, booking options are expected to expand to include platforms such as Bolt and other mobility applications.

Nan Yang, Vice President of Baidu and General Manager of the company’s Intelligent Driving International Business Unit, said the company is working to deliver safe, efficient, and scalable mobility services that set new standards for transportation in the region.

Mansoor Rahma Al Falasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi, said the launch reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to support innovation in the transport sector. He also noted that this step comes as part of its strategic partnership with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, which continues to support the development of infrastructure needed for autonomous mobility.

The initiative aligns with Dubai’s goal of transforming 25 percent of total journeys into smart and autonomous trips by 2030, reinforcing its direction toward a more advanced and sustainable transport system.
