Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with Careem, has announced that more than 10 million trips have been completed using the Careem Bike service since its launch in February 2020 through April 2026. The milestone reflects a steady increase in the use of bicycles as a practical mode of transport across the city.
The growth comes alongside ongoing efforts to expand and improve Dubai’s cycling infrastructure. The RTA continues to develop dedicated bike lanes that connect residential areas with key destinations and public transport stations, making it easier for people to integrate cycling into their daily commutes.
These routes are designed to support short-distance travel and help users move efficiently between locations, particularly for first- and last-mile journeys. As a result, cycling has become a more accessible and convenient option for many residents and visitors.
To mark the achievement, the RTA and Careem recognized some of the most active users by offering free subscriptions and vouchers. One user, who completed around 5,000 trips, was also highlighted. In addition, a limited-time promotion was introduced for new users on April 11 and 12, offering discounted ride fares through a special code.
Officials noted that the Careem Bike service plays a role in supporting integrated transport across Dubai, while also encouraging more sustainable travel habits. The service has also contributed to reducing carbon emissions by offering an alternative to car trips.
Dubai has seen a noticeable expansion in its cycling network in recent years, with plans for further growth and continued improvements in infrastructure, especially around residential communities and public transport hubs.
Careem stated that this milestone reflects the steady growth of the service and its expanding presence across Dubai, highlighting the importance of its collaboration with the RTA in providing convenient mobility solutions for short distances.
Since its launch, Careem Bike has grown from a limited number of stations to a wider network covering many key areas in Dubai, making it a practical option for a broader segment of users.
