In a strategic move to empower Arab cultural content in the digital sphere, His Excellency Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs in the UAE, has announced the official launch of the History Academy, the first digital platform dedicated to producing purposeful historical content about the Arab world.

Operating under Visioneers, the UAE’s largest content development and management group, the History Academy aims to reinforce the UAE’s leading role in promoting Arab cultural heritage and expanding its presence globally through powerful digital storytelling.

As part of its inaugural initiatives, the academy has kicked off its flagship training programme titled “Historical Content Creators”, hosted at the Influencers Hub and running until the end of July. This programme is designed to equip talented Arab content creators with the skills to produce captivating historical narratives that inspire younger generations and strengthen their connection to their cultural roots.

The academy’s programme targets a wide range of participants, including university students, creative influencers, writers, and journalists passionate about telling the region’s stories. Following an extensive promotional campaign launched in May, the academy received over 1,000 applications from 20 countries, with 65 candidates selected after rigorous interviews conducted by a specialised digital content committee.

The launch event was attended by Mohammad Al Gergawi alongside Saeed Al Eter, Head of the UAE Government Media Office, and several prominent content creators from across the Arab region.

Speaking at the launch, Mohammad Al Gergawi emphasised the UAE’s vision of history as a vital pillar in building national identity and fostering a strong sense of belonging. He stated:

“Narrating history is central to illuminating past experiences that guide our journey towards civilisational progress with clarity and confidence. Launching the History Academy is a strategic step to utilise the UAE’s expertise in digital media to support influencers in creating purposeful and inspiring content about the history of the UAE and the wider region.”

He further highlighted the importance of preparing historical content creators as ambassadors who revive and preserve the memory of the past with accuracy and creativity, countering misinformation and ensuring that future generations remain connected to their rich heritage.

The Historical Content Creators programme is structured into multiple modules over four weeks, covering creative storytelling, scriptwriting, mobile filming and editing, artificial intelligence tools, social media strategies, digital marketing fundamentals, and producing content aligned with government communication standards.

By launching this academy, the UAE seeks to document and share the untold stories of the Arab world, fostering a deeper societal dialogue about collective memory while introducing historical figures and events to modern audiences through innovative, youth-friendly formats.
