In a move that further strengthens the appeal of its Golden Residency program, the United Arab Emirates has introduced a new package of services designed to provide enhanced support and protection for long-term residents, both within the country and while abroad.
The initiative, led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, brings a range of practical and humanitarian benefits aimed at ensuring the well-being and security of Golden Residency holders under all circumstances.
Return Document for Lost or Damaged Passports
A key feature of the new package is the introduction of a “Return Document” service. If a resident loses or damages their passport while abroad, this single-use document allows them to return to the UAE safely and quickly. It’s valid for seven days from the date of issue and can also be provided to eligible family members, provided their residency remains valid.
Once back in the UAE, residents are required to apply for a new passport through the appropriate channels.
Emergency and Crisis Support While Abroad
Another significant upgrade in the service package is the provision of emergency support for Golden Residency holders who find themselves in crisis situations abroad. Whether due to political unrest, natural disasters, or other unexpected events, residents can now receive coordinated assistance from UAE embassies and missions overseas.
This includes being added to emergency response and evacuation plans when necessary, ensuring their safety remains a priority no matter where they are in the world.
Repatriation and Funeral Support
In cases of death while abroad, the UAE will now provide a comprehensive service to repatriate the remains of the deceased back to the country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will coordinate with local authorities and health departments to manage the entire process smoothly and respectfully, offering critical support to the families during such difficult times.
24/7 Hotline Support
To ensure ease of access to these new services, the UAE has launched a dedicated hotline specifically for Golden Residency holders. The service is available around the clock and can be accessed internationally, offering immediate guidance and assistance when needed.
