Emirates Airlines has officially announced the rollout of high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire operating fleet, marking a significant step forward in its mission to redefine the global travel experience. The installation begins this November on Boeing 777 aircraft, with full completion targeted by mid-2027.
Passengers on Emirates flights will soon enjoy seamless internet access—comparable to land-based broadband—enabling video streaming, gaming, video calls, remote work, and social media browsing throughout their journey. This revolutionary upgrade is available not only on seatback screens but also on passengers’ personal devices, offering full connectivity in every cabin class.
The first aircraft equipped with Starlink—a Boeing 777-300ER registered A6-EPF—is already on display at the Dubai Airshow, where visitors can test the high-speed connection on the ground. This same aircraft will mark the beginning of Emirates’ commercial service with Starlink when it returns to scheduled flights on November 23.
To meet its ambitious goals, Emirates plans to retrofit 14 aircraft per month, with Airbus A380 upgrades beginning in February 2026. Each Boeing 777 will receive two Starlink antennas, while the A380 will be the first aircraft type in the aviation industry to have three antennas installed—ensuring top-tier connectivity and coverage across all classes.
In addition to high-speed internet, Emirates will roll out live TV streaming through Starlink—initially on personal devices and later through seatback screens by the end of December 2025.
Crucially, the Wi-Fi service will be completely free of charge for all passengers, regardless of their travel class. There will be no need for Skywards membership or any payment—just a simple one-click login for instant internet access.
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, emphasized the significance of this technological leap, saying:
“Our partnership with Starlink represents a strategic milestone in our continuous journey to deliver excellence. With the fastest in-flight Wi-Fi in the world, we’re setting a new global standard—offering productivity, instant communication, and uninterrupted connectivity as part of the Emirates experience.”
He also highlighted that this initiative aligns with the airline’s broader transformation program, which includes cabin upgrades, the introduction of premium economy, and enhanced entertainment systems.
“We are redefining what it means to fly, ensuring our customers enjoy the best of Emirates on every aircraft, every time,” Clark added.
Chad Gibbs, Vice President of Starlink Commercial Operations at SpaceX, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration:
“With Starlink onboard, Emirates passengers will be able to stream, game, and make video calls just like they do on the ground. We’re excited to support Emirates in transforming in-flight connectivity while ensuring top-tier service quality.”
This game-changing initiative reaffirms Emirates’ commitment to innovation and excellence, positioning the airline once again as a leader in the global aviation industry.
