Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with Digital Dubai, has announced a new upgrade to the “My City” service available on the DubaiNow app. Developed in partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Dubai Municipality, the enhanced service is designed to make it simpler and faster for people to report issues related to infrastructure and public facilities—helping maintain the city’s clean, organized, and modern appearance.
The update reflects Dubai’s broader commitment to using artificial intelligence in practical ways that make everyday life easier. By integrating advanced AI tools, the service can now process reports more efficiently, ensuring quicker responses and smoother coordination between government entities. The ultimate goal is clear: to further improve the quality of life for everyone who lives in or visits the emirate.
Supporting Dubai’s Vision for a Well-Maintained City
The development of this service comes in alignment with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, to make Dubai the best, most beautiful, and most sophisticated and civilized city in the world. It also aligns with the objectives of the Steering Committee for Preserving the Urban Appearance of Dubai, which was formed by a decision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, in September 2025.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, affirmed that the development of the “My City” service comes as part of the Dubai Government’s commitment to enhancing quality of life and elevating the emirate’s urban appearance by enabling community members to report observations and issues in streets and public spaces easily and effectively.
A Smarter and Easier Way to Report Issues
The “My City” service acts as a smart digital bridge between the community and government authorities. Users can simply take a photo of an issue and upload it through the app. From there, artificial intelligence steps in—analyzing the image, identifying the problem and its location, categorizing the report, and automatically directing it to the relevant authority.
The service covers a wide range of concerns, including damaged roads, faulty traffic signals, fallen trees, water accumulation, cleanliness observations, water leaks, and electrical hazards. This broad coverage ensures that most everyday issues affecting public spaces can be addressed through a single, user-friendly platform.
Faster Action, Stronger Community Role
With its improved system, reports are reviewed and assigned quickly, and relevant authorities aim to resolve cases within one to five working days, depending on the nature of the issue.
More importantly, the service encourages a stronger sense of shared responsibility. By giving residents and visitors an easy way to speak up about what they see, Dubai continues to foster a culture where the community plays an active role in maintaining the city’s beauty and functionality.
Through initiatives like this, Dubai once again demonstrates how technology, collaboration, and civic engagement can come together to create a smarter and more connected urban experience.
