Dubai is welcoming a new summer season with the launch of the 29th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises, held this year under the theme “Ya Hala Summer Dubai.” Running through August 30, the event offers residents and visitors a wide-ranging program that combines shopping, entertainment, hospitality and family-friendly activities.
This year’s edition features an extensive lineup of promotional offers, live events and major raffles, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a leading summer destination for families and shopping enthusiasts. Malls, hotels, resorts and international brands across the city are taking part in the season’s activities.
Organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, the event includes free concerts, live performances, hospitality experiences and activities for children and families. Shoppers can also find discounts of up to 90 percent, along with opportunities to win a variety of prizes, adding more energy to the city’s summer calendar.
The entertainment program begins during the opening weekend with a series of concerts at shopping malls across Dubai. Dubai Hills Mall will host Emirati singer Saif Al Ali on July 3, followed by Arqam Al Abri on July 4. City Centre Mirdif will welcome Iraqi singer Rahma Riad on July 3 and star Nassif Zeytoun on July 4.
Mohammed Al Bakri will also present the “Samaratna” show at the New Covent Garden Theatre in Mall of the Emirates, while Assem Sukkar will perform a concert inspired by Spacetoon songs at the Jafza One Convention Centre. The show is expected to bring back memories of some of the most popular songs that shaped the childhood of generations across the Arab world.
Families are also a major focus of this year’s Dubai Summer Surprises program. Modesh World opens July 3 at the Dubai World Trade Centre and runs through August 23, offering games, interactive shows and activities designed for children and families. Hotels and resorts are also joining the event with around 100 staycation offers, including luxury options, exclusive deals for UAE residents and entertainment programs suitable for the whole family.
Shopping remains one of the main highlights of the event. Dubai Summer Sales runs from July 2 to August 2, offering discounts of up to 90 percent across thousands of stores and brands, along with limited-time deals and exclusive rewards. The Back to School season will take place from August 3 to 30, featuring offers on school supplies, electronics and clothing, as well as activities for students and families preparing for the new academic year.
The sales season begins with the “12 Hours of Exclusive Deals” promotion, organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment in partnership with Majid Al Futtaim malls. More than 100 brands will offer discounts of up to 90 percent at Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif and City Centre Deira from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The campaign also gives shoppers who spend AED 300 or more at participating stores in these malls the chance to enter a draw to become a “SHARE Millionaire,” after registering their purchases through the SHARE program in accordance with the approved terms and conditions.
Additional promotions will continue throughout the festival, giving shoppers daily opportunities to win. These include one-day-only exclusive offers announced 24 hours in advance, as well as the “Lucky Receipt” campaign, which gives shoppers who spend AED 300 or more at participating stores the chance to win one of 100 prizes, with 10 prizes awarded each day.
The “Win Your Home in Dubai” campaign will also continue during the season. Launched by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment in cooperation with Dubai Chambers, the campaign gives shoppers the opportunity to win one of 12 residential units provided by Binghatti Developers, including a two-bedroom apartment offered as the grand prize in the final draw.
