Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, shared the update on LinkedIn, stating that the airport is rapidly moving away from outdated check-in lines and toward a fully automated, smooth-flowing process powered by facial recognition and biometric technologies.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt won\u2019t be long before our intelligent Red Carpet tunnel is rolled out to all our guests,\u201d Griffiths wrote. \u201cThis will dramatically reduce waiting times and give travelers more time to enjoy their journeys.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Red Carpet tunnel is an advanced biometric corridor where passengers are identified automatically as they walk through, without needing to stop for manual document checks or additional screening. Once recognized, they\u2019re given instant clearance to proceed, making the entire process faster and more convenient.<\/p>\n
Griffiths emphasized that these technologies are already helping to transform how passengers move through the airport terminals. \u201cWaiting in line at Dubai Airport is quickly becoming a thing of the past,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
He also highlighted ongoing efforts to integrate AI and smart design solutions across all airport operations\u2014from passenger entry and exit to logistics and transport management\u2014ensuring that Dubai remains at the forefront of global airport innovation.<\/p>\n
