Louvre Abu Dhabi has announced the opening of submissions for the sixth edition of its contemporary art exhibition, \u201cArt Here 2026,\u201d along with the Richard Mille Art Prize. This year, the initiative expands its reach to include artists from India and the GCC countries.<\/p>\n
Artists from GCC countries \u2014 both nationals and residents \u2014 as well as Indian nationals are invited to submit project proposals inspired by the theme \u201cTides.\u201d The theme explores how the modern world is shaped by the interaction of history, cultures, and environments, and how these connections create spaces for dialogue, exchange, and transformation.<\/p>\n
Selected artists will be commissioned to develop large-scale, site-specific artworks designed to engage with the museum\u2019s outdoor spaces beneath Louvre Abu Dhabi\u2019s iconic dome. These works will extend across key locations, from the Damascus Fountain through the walkway leading to the shallow reflective pool, and up to Jenny Holzer\u2019s public installation.<\/p>\n
Since its launch in 2021, \u201cArt Here\u201d has played an important role in supporting regional talent and highlighting the region\u2019s evolving cultural landscape. It continues to grow as a platform that brings together diverse voices and artistic narratives from different backgrounds.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s theme builds on the idea of culture as something fluid and constantly evolving, shaped by movement, interaction, and shared experiences. It offers artists the opportunity to reflect on connections that go beyond borders and traditional frameworks.<\/p>\n
Submissions will remain open until May 31, 2026, via the museum\u2019s official website. A specialized jury will review the entries and shortlist selected proposals, which will then be developed and presented as part of the exhibition opening in November.<\/p>\n
One participating artist will be awarded the Richard Mille Art Prize, valued at $60,000, in recognition of outstanding creativity. The winner is expected to be announced in December.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
