Innovation Platform Capital and Intelligent Investment Holding, which is based in Abu Dhabi Global Market, have announced the establishment of a joint venture to develop an integrated platform for green hydrogen production in the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n
The move supports the UAE\u2019s broader direction toward strengthening the clean energy sector and reducing carbon emissions, while advancing projects that contribute to the country\u2019s long-term energy transition goals.<\/p>\n
The first phase of the project will begin with investments worth $1 billion. It aims to build a fully connected value chain that includes renewable energy generation, green hydrogen production and storage, the conversion of hydrogen into green ammonia, and the development of commercially scalable fuel solutions.<\/p>\n
To accelerate implementation, the two companies plan to launch a dedicated investment fund in the coming period. The fund will support early-stage development, strengthen strategic partnerships, and finance the engineering work required for the project.<\/p>\n
The initiative will benefit from IPC\u2019s Canadian platform model, which is valued at around $10 billion. It will use advanced and proven technologies for converting green hydrogen into ammonia, while building on the UAE\u2019s competitive advantages, including its advanced port infrastructure, free zones, and strong solar energy resources.<\/p>\n
The platform is expected to serve several key sectors, including industry, data centers, and smart cities. It will provide green hydrogen, green ammonia, hydrogen-based cooling solutions, and scalable clean energy systems.<\/p>\n
The project\u2019s product pathways include supplying refineries and industrial clusters with green hydrogen, producing green ammonia for export markets and marine fuel applications, and developing future solutions in e-fuels and sustainable synthetic fuels.<\/p>\n
Juraj Baros, Managing Partner at Innovation Platform Capital, said the joint venture represents a shift from vision to execution. He noted that the UAE hydrogen platform is moving toward the development phase by drawing on the company\u2019s global center of excellence. He added that the first phase will create a scalable foundation for clean fuels, initially serving the UAE market before supporting regional and international expansion.<\/p>\n
Dr. Amani Obaid, Board Member of Intelligent Investment Holding, said the project is aligned with the UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategy and reflects the country\u2019s long-term vision for sustainable economic growth and energy transformation. She added that the company will work closely with the relevant government entities to ensure the successful development of the platform and its integration into the national energy ecosystem.<\/p>\n
