This step reflects a clear direction toward developing government services and sectors in line with global technological changes.

This initiative is not limited to training employees on modern digital tools. It represents a shift in the way government institutions operate, as the country aims to make artificial intelligence a key part of service delivery, data analysis, faster procedures, and better decision-making.

Dr. Khaled Al Naqbi, an Emirati expert within the “Artificial Intelligence Track” of the UAE Government Leaders Programme, said that artificial intelligence has become one of the main forces reshaping governments, economies, and investment markets around the world. He pointed out that the AI sector in the UAE is expected to record significant growth in the coming years, reaching around AED 170.14 billion by 2030.

Improving Government Performance

Al Naqbi explained that training 80,000 government employees in artificial intelligence is not just a large training programme, but a major step in developing the government work system. He noted that the UAE has always been among the countries that lead future transformations, rather than simply follow them.

Over the next two years, the UAE aims to transform 50% of government services, sectors, and operations into models that rely on assistive artificial intelligence. This would allow government systems to work faster and more accurately, whether in analyzing information, carrying out procedures, or responding to the needs of customers.

This direction reflects the UAE’s move from using technology as a supporting tool to a deeper stage, where government work is redesigned around smart technologies. The expected outcome is less complexity, faster completion of transactions, and an improved experience for users of government services.

Vital Sectors Leading the Transformation

The importance of the “Artificial Intelligence Track” within the UAE Government Leaders Programme lies in its focus on preparing Emirati talent capable of leading this transformation across 25 vital sectors. These include assistive AI technologies, the data economy, monetization models, AI-related cybersecurity, and the protection of smart models.

The real value does not lie in training alone, but in the ability of these talents to turn knowledge into practical applications within government and economic institutions. The aim is to make services faster, decisions more accurate, and procedures less complicated, while enabling employees to move from routine tasks to more influential roles in planning, innovation, and execution.

Reducing traditional workloads for employees is expected to create wider space for creativity and development. It will also give human talent more room to focus on thinking, building solutions, and improving performance, which will positively support the competitiveness of the UAE economy and its ability to attract future technologies and investments.

Greater Confidence for Investors

Preparing government employees in the field of artificial intelligence also helps strengthen the confidence of global investors in the UAE’s economic environment. The country does not view AI as a temporary trend, but as a long-term strategic path to reshape the economy, services, and digital infrastructure.

According to Al Naqbi, the AI sector is witnessing a global race that is not limited to developing technologies. It also includes building governments and economies that are able to use these technologies in practical and effective ways. From this perspective, the UAE continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for artificial intelligence and the economy of the future.

Artificial intelligence is expected to become one of the important factors supporting foreign investment flows into the UAE in the coming years, especially in sectors such as data centers, cloud computing, semiconductors, robotics, financial technology, and digital infrastructure.

Figures Reflecting Major Opportunities

Economic indicators show the scale of the expected role of artificial intelligence in supporting growth during the next phase. Global estimates suggest that AI could contribute up to USD 15.7 trillion to the world economy by 2030.

In the UAE, forecasts indicate that artificial intelligence could add around USD 96 billion to the country’s gross domestic product by 2030, representing nearly 14% of the national economy.

The AI sector in the UAE is also expected to grow from AED 12.74 billion in 2023 to AED 170.14 billion by 2030, which clearly reflects the expanding economic opportunities linked to these technologies.

The UAE’s plan to train 80,000 government employees in assistive artificial intelligence technologies is set to improve government service efficiency, strengthen the competitiveness of the national economy, and attract future technology investments.

[15
256
post-15282","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-english-stories","tag-news
["GET
