The National Space Science and Technology Center at United Arab Emirates University announced the successful launch of the SEO satellite aboard a Long March-2C rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in the People\u2019s Republic of China.<\/p>\n
The successful launch of the SEO satellite marks another important milestone in the center\u2019s ongoing efforts to develop national space projects, strengthen the UAE\u2019s capabilities in the space sector, and support the country\u2019s strategic direction toward leadership in science, technology, and innovation.<\/p>\n
The SEO project builds on the National Space Science and Technology Center\u2019s efforts to develop Emirati talent and provide UAE researchers and engineers with opportunities to gain advanced hands-on experience in satellite design, development, and operations.<\/p>\n
The project is being carried out in cooperation with a number of international partners, helping promote the exchange of technical knowledge and expertise while supporting the development of national talent capable of contributing to future space missions.<\/p>\n

His Excellency Eng. Salem Butti Al Qubaisi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency, said that the successful launch of the \u2018SEO\u2019 satellite is in line with the UAE\u2019s vision and National Space Strategy, which aims to consolidate the country\u2019s position among the world\u2019s leading nations in the space sector and strengthen the contribution of science and advanced technology to sustainable development and the knowledge economy.<\/p>\n
He added that the mission reflects the importance of integration between national and academic institutions in building an advanced space ecosystem that contributes to developing national capabilities and empowering future generations to lead the future of the space sector.<\/p>\n
For his part, Dr. Nabil Mohammed Al Bastaki, Director of the National Space Science and Technology Center, added that the \u2018SEO\u2019 project represents an extension of the center\u2019s efforts to develop national space projects that contribute to building Emirati capabilities and strengthening the practical experience of researchers and engineers in the fields of satellite design, development, and operations.<\/p>\n
