The Dubai Police General Command has announced the launch of the “Proud of the UAE” cycling race on Sunday, in cooperation with the UAE Cycling Federation. The event aims to highlight the spirit of belonging and pride in the UAE, support sportsmanship, and promote quality of life and healthy lifestyles among members of the community.
Dubai Police explained that the total value of the race prizes amounts to AED 264,000, which will be distributed to the top ten winners in the men’s and women’s categories. Participation is open to those over the age of 18, as the race route extends over a distance of 60 kilometers.
The “Proud of the UAE” race is scheduled to start at 6:00 a.m. from in front of Nad Al Sheba Police Station, passing by Global Village via Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Street. The finish line will be at Nad Al Sheba Center, with the race expected to conclude about four hours after the start.
Dubai Police confirmed that the race will see the participation of several clubs, along with amateurs, citizens, residents, and female athletes interested in cycling. The force noted that the event has been designed to support the spread of cycling culture and encourage the community to engage in physical activity.
The race will also welcome families through a range of accompanying activities and events organized by the Positive Spirit Council and specialized police departments. These activities will feature Dubai Police luxury patrols, police dogs, Dubai Police cyclists, and other attractions that add a community and entertainment atmosphere to the event.
The organization of the “Proud of the UAE” cycling race comes as part of Dubai Police’s efforts to strengthen sports and community initiatives that combine positive competition, health awareness, and the values of pride and belonging among different segments of society.
