Dubai is preparing to add a new experience to its luxury tourism scene with the launch of the Portofino Festival at The Heart of Europe on The World Islands. Taking place from June 5 to June 27, 2026, the festival will bring the atmosphere of the famous Italian destination to Dubai through a program that combines food, music, culture, and entertainment.

The festival comes as part of Dubai’s growing focus on hospitality experiences that go beyond traditional hotel stays. Instead of offering only accommodation, destinations are increasingly creating complete journeys for visitors, with cultural themes, live entertainment, and interactive activities. The Portofino Festival will be hosted across three hotels within The Heart of Europe, giving guests the chance to enjoy Italian-inspired settings, culinary experiences, musical performances, and family-friendly activities.

The launch of the festival also reflects Dubai’s ability to develop tourism concepts that combine luxury with immersive experiences. This is especially relevant as demand for local holidays continues to grow among residents in the UAE. Rather than travelling abroad during peak seasons, many residents are choosing high-end destinations within the country that offer comfort, convenience, and a complete holiday atmosphere close to home.

The Heart of Europe is one of the projects supporting this direction. The destination presents a different approach to luxury hospitality by drawing inspiration from several European cities and combining that with hotels, restaurants, entertainment, and live cultural experiences. The Portofino Festival is part of a wider series of lifestyle events planned at the destination in the coming months, with the aim of strengthening the concept of experiential tourism in Dubai.

Joseph Kleindienst, founder of the Kleindienst Group, said the project is designed as an integrated destination that connects cultures and brings international lifestyle experiences to the UAE. He noted that Dubai provides the right environment for this type of development, supported by its advanced tourism infrastructure and its rich cultural diversity.

The Heart of Europe also includes several innovative features that add to the uniqueness of the destination. These include the already operational Raining Street, the Snow Plaza currently under construction, and floating homes with underwater bedrooms. Environmental considerations are also part of the project’s design, with the creation of the Coral Institute and the use of solar power across its real estate facilities.
