Expo City Dubai’s Winter City 2026 Opens December 11 With Exciting Disney+ Experiences

Expo City Dubai is bringing back Winter City for its fifth edition, running from December 11 to 31, 2026, at Al Wasl Plaza. Held under the theme “Every Winter Has a Story,” the event is part of this year’s Al Wasl Season celebrations.

For the first time since Winter City launched in 2022, Expo City Dubai is partnering with Disney+ to introduce interactive experiences inspired by popular movie characters and stories. The new edition will offer families and children a range of festive activities, including experiences making their debut in the region.

Interactive Experiences Inspired by Popular Disney Movies

Visitors can explore interactive areas inspired by Marvel, Frozen, and Toy Story, alongside Home Alone, the popular film produced by 20th Century Fox. These experiences will give children and families a chance to engage with familiar characters and stories in a new setting.

Winter City will also bring back several activities that have become favorites over the years. Visitors can enjoy snowfall beneath the Al Wasl dome, write letters to Santa, and meet Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The program will also feature artistic and light shows projected onto the Al Wasl dome, festive musical performances, and a variety of food and beverage options.

New Partnership Brings More Family Experiences

Amna Abulhoul, Executive Creative Director of Events and Entertainment at Expo City Dubai, said Winter City has established itself as a destination that brings together families from different nationalities.

She explained that the partnership with Disney+ marks an important step in the event’s development, giving children and families an opportunity to interact with the characters and stories they have enjoyed watching in movies and on television.

Abulhoul added that the collaboration supports Expo City Dubai’s efforts to contribute to the emirate’s creative economy. She also expects a noticeable increase in visitors from across the UAE and abroad during the upcoming edition.

Tamim Fares, Director of Disney+ for the Middle East, said: “The partnership with Expo City Dubai aims to bring the stories and characters that unite families across generations from the screen into real-life interactive experiences, allowing audiences to step into the worlds they know and engage with them through activities and experiences inspired by Disney+ productions.”

He added that the collaboration will include interactive experiences and shows beneath the Al Wasl dome, allowing visitors to enjoy beloved stories and characters in a new way while creating more opportunities for families and guests to interact and connect.
