Mleiha National Park has announced its selection as a finalist for the title of Middle East’s Leading National Park 2026 at the 33rd edition of the World Travel Awards, placing it among a select group of the region’s most prominent protected national parks.

The park is located within the core zone of the Faya Palaeolandscape, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is competing for the award alongside four other national parks from across the Middle East.

Reaching the final stage reflects Mleiha National Park’s efforts to protect the UAE’s archaeological heritage while offering a range of experiences in ecotourism, education, and desert adventure.

The nomination also highlights the park’s position as a destination that brings together heritage, nature, learning, and sustainable tourism within one of the most important archaeological areas in the Arabian Peninsula.

The World Travel Awards are among the leading international honors in the travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors. Each year, they recognize organizations and destinations that demonstrate high standards in tourism management, development, and visitor services.

This nomination strengthens Mleiha National Park’s presence on the regional tourism map and draws attention to its role in preserving historic and natural sites while providing visitors with opportunities to explore the area’s history and environment.

Voting for the award will remain open until July 31, 2026.
