Between November 2026 and March 2027, Emirates is scheduled to operate two daily A380 flights between Dubai and Melbourne, contributing to a clear rise in the number of superjumbo departures from the Australian airport.
According to data from Cirium, the total number of departing A380 flights from Melbourne is expected to reach around 449 during the period, compared with 340 flights in the same period a year earlier.
That represents an increase of 109 flights, or approximately 32%, reflecting solid demand for long-haul travel linking Australia with Dubai and the wider Emirates global network.

Qantas is expected to replace the superjumbo on the route with Boeing 787-9 aircraft, giving Emirates an even more prominent role in A380 operations at Melbourne Airport in the period ahead.
