Fujairah’s Scientific Club has proudly marked a major milestone for the UAE on the global stage. At the recent International Exhibition and Competition for Innovative Inventions (BIICC) held in Sarawak, Malaysia, a talented team of Emirati students showcased six breakthrough projects. Out of 180 teams and 670 young innovators worldwide, the UAE team secured an impressive haul: nine gold medals and four special awards.
The UAE delegation, composed mainly of students from Fujairah, pitched six science and technology projects designed to solve everyday societal challenges. Their innovations spanned key areas such as public safety, agriculture, logistics, and healthcare access.
In addition to the gold medals, Fujairah’s club earned recognition with two top-five project awards, one top-eight project award, and the prestigious Best Leadership accolade—presented to Dr. Saif Al-Maiali, the club’s director, in recognition of his outstanding guidance to the scientific teams.
Dr. Al-Maiali shared with Emirates Today that these achievements reflect the UAE and Fujairah’s ongoing commitment to nurturing young talent and exporting locally born, scalable solutions worldwide. He noted that the presented innovations are not only technologically advanced but also deeply practical and targeted to community needs.
