In celebration of World Humanitarian Day, Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), in collaboration with the Community Development Authority, launched a touching initiative under the name “Wrapped in Love”. Held at Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, the event was designed to promote a culture of volunteerism and inclusion, offering people of determination a meaningful opportunity to participate in community service.

As part of the initiative, a special workshop was organized where volunteers from the people of determination community gathered to prepare and wrap thoughtful gifts for the hospital’s young patients. The activity not only highlighted their abilities in a creative and supportive environment but also created a space filled with compassion and collaboration.

Once the gifts were wrapped, the volunteers personally distributed them to children across the hospital’s wards. The gift-giving tour was filled with warmth, smiles, and heartfelt exchanges—turning an ordinary day into a memorable one for everyone involved. The initiative reflected the true spirit of solidarity and humanity that lies at the core of Emirati values.

Brigadier Abdul Samad Hussain Al Blooshi, Assistant Director-General for Leadership and Future Affairs at GDRFA, emphasized that the initiative embodies the department’s philosophy of putting people first. “The participation of people of determination in volunteer work sends a powerful message of hope and inspiration. It shows that every individual can play a role in making a positive impact,” he stated.

Huraiz Al Mur bin Huraiz, CEO of the Social Development and Care Sector at the Community Development Authority, expressed his pride in the partnership with GDRFA. He described the initiative as an example of the kind of impactful programs that help integrate people of determination into society. “These efforts not only promote inclusion, but also reinforce generosity as a fundamental community value. It reflects Dubai’s vision of building a humane and inclusive society that welcomes everyone,” he said.

The “Wrapped in Love” initiative stands as a testament to Dubai’s ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for all members of the community, ensuring that every person, regardless of ability, has a space to contribute, connect, and inspire.
