Dubai has officially launched the Dubai Caravan Route, the first integrated travel path of its kind in the region. Announced by Dubai Municipality, the project redefines nature-based tourism by creating a seamless network that connects caravan parks, dedicated camping stations, and outdoor travel experiences across the Emirate’s diverse natural landscapes.
More than just a tourism initiative, the Dubai Caravan Route is a strategic move aimed at positioning the city as a leading destination for caravan tourism in the UAE and the wider region. It’s part of a broader vision to enhance residents’ quality of life while expanding the city’s tourism portfolio with innovative and sustainable experiences.
A New Framework for Sustainable Tourism
At the core of this initiative is a commitment to building a robust infrastructure and regulatory environment that empowers private sector developers and operators to invest in, build, and manage caravan parks and trails across Dubai. The municipality will provide the foundational infrastructure and streamline regulatory processes to encourage private investment in this growing tourism segment.
By integrating various natural environments—mountains, coastal areas, deserts, and forests—into a single connected route, the project offers a unique outdoor experience that combines adventure, relaxation, and nature immersion. Each destination along the route will be fully serviced, making the entire journey convenient and family-friendly.
Improving Quality of Life Through Outdoor Experiences
This initiative supports Dubai’s broader goals of enhancing well-being and aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to establish the Emirate as a global hub for innovation-driven, sustainable tourism. The Dubai Caravan Route will offer year-round family destinations, complete with hospitality facilities, restaurants, recreational amenities, and entertainment options tailored for all age groups.
Designed to stimulate the growth of the caravan sector, the project includes several incentives for investors—ranging from reduced land costs to financial support and flexible payment options for caravan ownership or rental. Badr Anoohi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, emphasized that the Dubai Caravan Route reflects the city’s commitment to developing innovative and sustainable tourism models that both enhance life quality and unlock new economic opportunities.
“By establishing the regulatory and infrastructural foundation for caravan tourism, we’re enabling private sector participation while offering residents and visitors new ways to discover Dubai’s natural beauty through family-oriented, accessible outdoor destinations,” he stated.
Dubai Municipality is inviting investors, tour operators, road service providers, and local and international partners to participate in shaping and operating this transformative caravan tourism network.
