Dubai Municipality has officially launched the “Junior Biking Trail” at Mushrif National Park, marking the first cycling trail in the Middle East specifically designed for children under the age of 12. This nature-inspired trail spans 1.5 kilometers and offers young riders a safe and structured adventure experience in one of Dubai’s most iconic green spaces.
The project aligns with Dubai’s 2040 Urban Garden and Forestry Strategy, which places human well-being at the heart of urban planning and seeks to create inclusive and health-focused green spaces that are accessible to all segments of the community.
A Trail Designed for Young Adventurers
Located within the “Mushrif Hub” — a family-friendly recreational zone in Mushrif Park — the Junior Biking Trail is tailored specifically to children’s physical capabilities, height, balance, and motor coordination. The route is designed not only to entertain but to help young riders build confidence, improve control, and develop independent movement in a secure environment.
The trail includes a series of interactive and progressively challenging elements that support skill development, such as:
-
Balance tracks to enhance stability
-
Play arches for direction control
-
Wooden ramps to maintain momentum
-
Sloped turns for safe curve navigation
-
Rolling logs, bendable structures, and rocky areas to improve agility and core biking skills
All of these are integrated into the natural landscape of the park, offering a seamless blend of recreation and environmental exploration.
Free and Open Daily
The trail is open to the public free of charge, every day from sunrise to sunset. Designed with safety and quality in mind, it allows children to explore and have fun under parental supervision or park guidance in a structured and supportive setting.
A Complete Outdoor Experience for Families
The launch of the Junior Biking Trail further enhances Mushrif Park’s reputation as a go-to destination for outdoor adventures. The park already features extensive mountain biking trails for adults and professionals, making it possible for families to enjoy parallel activities in the same location.
The “Mushrif Hub” includes a wide array of visitor amenities such as:
-
Healthy food outlets
-
Prayer facilities
-
Public service amenities
This ensures a smooth and comfortable experience for all visitors in one integrated space.
A Community-Centered Initiative
Commenting on the launch, Mohammed Abdulrahman Ahli, Acting Director of the Public Parks and Recreational Facilities Department at Dubai Municipality, emphasized that the trail is a direct response to community needs and part of a broader vision for healthier, family-focused urban spaces.
He stated:
“The Junior Biking Trail at Mushrif Hub represents a practical example of the 2040 Parks and Afforestation Strategy, which focuses on creating people-centric parks that promote health, physical activity, and family interaction in safe, sustainable natural environments.”
Dubai Municipality continues to develop public parks and outdoor spaces that balance adventure and safety, fun and education — all in support of Dubai’s vision to become a leading city for sustainable and attractive living.
