Official working hours for federal entities during the holy month of Ramadan have been set from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Friday working hours have been reduced, with remote work flexibility of up to 70% permitted in accordance with the approved regulations.
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has announced the adoption of the official working hours for federal entities during the holy month of Ramadan. This step aims to take into account the special nature of the holy month and to promote a balance between work requirements and employees’ needs, with the exception of categories whose job nature requires a different working system.
According to the circular issued by the Authority, working hours from Monday to Thursday will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., while Friday working hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Authority clarified that ministries and federal entities may continue implementing their approved flexible working systems during Ramadan working days, in accordance with the relevant regulations and within the number of working hours specified in the circular. It also noted the possibility of granting employees the option to work remotely on Fridays, provided that this does not exceed 70% of the entity’s total workforce, subject to compliance with the approved regulations and ensuring the continued delivery of services with the required efficiency.
