Dubai Police Ramadan initiatives have seen remarkable community engagement this year, with 1,170 male and female volunteers participating in a variety of humanitarian activities during the first half of the holy month of Ramadan. Volunteers from different nationalities and age groups joined efforts aimed at supporting fasting individuals and promoting values of solidarity and compassion within the community.
The volunteers played a key role in several charitable initiatives organized by Dubai Police, most notably distributing iftar meals at mosques across various areas of the emirate. In addition, volunteers assisted in handing out meals to motorists waiting at traffic signals shortly before the Maghrib call to prayer, helping those who were still on the road at iftar time.
Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, praised the volunteers for their dedication and willingness to contribute to community service. He emphasized that their participation reflects the humanitarian values deeply rooted in Emirati society, particularly during Ramadan, a month associated with generosity, compassion, and giving.
Al Mansouri explained that volunteers played an important role in the success of the Ramadan initiatives, which aim to spread happiness among fasting individuals while strengthening the spirit of community participation. He added that such initiatives help reinforce the religious and social values that define the holy month.
He also noted that Dubai Police offered 11 volunteer opportunities through its volunteer platform, allowing individuals who wish to contribute to community and humanitarian initiatives to participate actively during Ramadan. These opportunities align with government efforts to promote a culture of volunteering and strengthen the concept of shared responsibility between government entities and members of society.
According to Al Mansouri, offering volunteer opportunities during Ramadan helps expand community participation and supports the goals of sustainable development while improving overall quality of life. Volunteering, he added, plays an important role in strengthening social bonds and encouraging cooperation among community members.
He concluded by highlighting that the strong turnout for volunteer work reflects growing public awareness of the importance of volunteering and its vital role in supporting community initiatives. Dubai Police, he said, will continue launching innovative programs and initiatives that encourage both employees and members of the public to take part in volunteer work and contribute to building a more compassionate and connected society.
