Dubai Airports is continuing to enhance the passenger experience from the very first moment visitors arrive in the emirate, introducing a series of welcoming initiatives that combine live music, interactive activities, and complimentary hospitality.
The new experiences are designed to give arriving and transit passengers a warm introduction to Dubai and to make the journey through Dubai International Airport feel like part of the city experience itself.
Mascot Characters Welcome Children at Dubai Airport
Among the most noticeable additions are mascot characters from Dubai Police and the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs, welcoming children traveling with their families.
The initiative aims to create a cheerful and friendly atmosphere for young passengers, especially after long journeys, while making the arrival process more enjoyable for families.
At the same time, live musicians perform for passengers as they make their way through the arrivals hall, adding an upbeat and celebratory atmosphere to the first moments of their stay in Dubai.
Personalized Welcome Signs for Returning Travelers
Families and friends waiting in the arrivals hall can also create their own personalized signs at the “Make Your Welcome Home Sign” station.
The experience allows visitors to decorate their signs using stickers and designs inspired by Dubai, turning each message into a personal way of celebrating the return of a family member or friend.
The initiative adds even more energy to the arrivals area, particularly during emotional reunions after periods of travel or time apart.
Free Drinks and Hospitality for Arriving Passengers
The welcoming experience does not end inside the terminal.
Passengers who continue their journey using Dubai Taxi can receive complimentary refreshments, hospitality items, and cool towels to help them feel refreshed after their flight.
The complimentary offerings are provided in cooperation with several partners, including Mirzam, Emirati District, Emirates Flight Catering, and oneDXB partners.
The initiative reflects Dubai’s effort to extend its hospitality beyond the airport terminal and into the passenger’s first journey through the city.
Live Music for Transit Passengers
Transit passengers traveling through Dubai International Airport are also included in the experience.
Dubai Airports welcomes them with live performances inspired by the sounds of the region, giving travelers a glimpse of Dubai’s lively cultural and musical scene even if they are only spending a few hours at the airport.
Passengers can also enjoy complimentary refreshments and hospitality at the Emirati District, adding extra comfort to their time between flights.
Dubai International Airport as a Gateway to the City
Michelle Lee, Vice President of Brand and Communications at Dubai Airports, said Dubai International Airport serves as the gateway to the city and is often the first point of contact many visitors have with Dubai.
She explained that the aim is for every stage of the passenger journey, whether arriving or transiting, to reflect the warmth, energy, and diversity that define Dubai, as well as the spirit created by the people who live in the city.
Dubai Airports also wants to turn everyday passenger touchpoints into memorable experiences, whether travelers are returning home or simply spending a few hours at the airport before continuing to another destination.
“Dubai in the Heart” Offers an Interactive Travel Experience
Passengers can also take part in the interactive “Dubai in the Heart” experience located near Gate B28.
By uploading a selfie, travelers can become part of a collective Dubai image created using the colors of the UAE flag, giving them a unique digital souvenir from their journey.
Visitors can also leave handwritten messages expressing pride or gratitude on a nearby message wall before receiving limited-edition stickers and commemorative pins.
The Experience Continues Throughout August
The welcoming activities will continue throughout August across Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport.
Through live music, mascot characters, personalized welcome signs, complimentary hospitality, and interactive experiences, Dubai Airports is working to present visitors with a complete picture of the city from the moment they arrive.
The goal is to turn the airport from a simple travel stop into a lively space that celebrates passengers, reunions, and the feeling of coming home.
