Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia, and His Excellency Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, discussed expanding the partnership between the governments of the two countries in knowledge and expertise exchange and strengthening cooperation aimed at developing government work by benefiting from the successful experiences of the UAE Government.
The discussions took place during a working visit by the President of Zambia to the UAE. The two sides reviewed opportunities to draw on the UAE’s government experience to support Zambia’s efforts to modernize government work, improve efficiency, build government capabilities, and strengthen future readiness in ways that positively benefit society.
UAE-Zambia Partnership Focuses on Government Development
President Hakainde Hichilema reaffirmed the Republic of Zambia’s commitment to continuing the development of its distinguished bilateral relations with the UAE, opening new avenues for cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest, and strengthening their partnership in knowledge exchange aimed at advancing government work. He also praised the distinguished journey of bilateral relations between the two countries, which spans more than five decades.
Al Gergawi: Knowledge Exchange Supports the Governments of the Future
His Excellency Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi affirmed that the UAE leadership adopts an approach based on strengthening constructive cooperation and exchanging knowledge and expertise with countries around the world, while developing government partnerships that contribute to building future capabilities. He also noted the UAE Government’s commitment to expanding cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Zambia and sharing the expertise and practices that have contributed to the development of the UAE’s government work ecosystem.
Digital Transformation and Government Services at the Forefront of Cooperation
The meeting covered cooperation and the exchange of government expertise and best practices, including the UAE’s experience in developing government services, advancing digital transformation, strengthening the capabilities of government personnel, and applying government accelerators methodologies.
Zero Bureaucracy and Simplifying Government Procedures
The two sides also discussed the UAE’s Zero Government Bureaucracy approach and opportunities to benefit from practices aimed at simplifying procedures, improving efficiency, and accelerating government work.
Artificial Intelligence Among Future Areas of Cooperation
The discussions also addressed opportunities for cooperation in developing national capabilities in artificial intelligence as part of efforts to strengthen government performance and future readiness.
Exchanging Expertise to Build More Future-Ready Institutions
The meeting was attended by Mulambo Haimbe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Patrick Kangwa, Secretary to the Cabinet; and Mohammad bin Taliah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Government Experience Exchange, along with a number of officials from the governments of the UAE and Zambia.
