Dubai Holding, the global investment company operating across 10 sectors in 34 countries, has officially opened registration for the second edition of its global challenge “Innovate for a Better Tomorrow,” with applications accepted until November 25.
In partnership with in5, the business incubator under TECOM Group, the initiative is designed to attract fast-growing startups worldwide to rethink how resources are consumed, produced, and regenerated, in support of a more sustainable circular economy.
The challenge offers a total prize pool of AED 850,000, along with seed funding for pilot projects. Winners will also get an exceptional opportunity to demonstrate the feasibility of their innovative solutions within Dubai Holding’s broad portfolio of assets.
This year’s edition focuses on three main themes:
-
Food waste and loss
-
Resource recycling and regeneration
-
Digital innovation for sustainability
Startups with tech-driven, scalable solutions are invited to submit their entries, especially those addressing long-term resource sustainability and environmental impact reduction.
Out of all submissions, 15 high-growth startups will be selected to join a 12-week program packed with workshops, mentorship from leading industry experts, and training sessions to refine their business models and expand market access. The program also provides access to Dubai Holding’s extensive ecosystem, including investor networks, testing environments, and world-class infrastructure.
The challenge will culminate in 2026 with a Demo Day, where finalists will pitch their pilot projects to investors, partners, and industry leaders. The first-place winner will receive a cash prize of AED 500,000, along with full backing from Dubai Holding to bring their project to life. The second and third-place winners will receive AED 250,000 and AED 100,000 respectively.
The first edition, held last year, attracted over 150 applications from 31 countries, reflecting the global appetite for sustainable innovation.
Commenting on the launch, Huda Buhumaid, Chief Marketing and Sustainability Officer at Dubai Holding, stated:
“At Dubai Holding, we’re committed to supporting groundbreaking ideas that create lasting impact across sectors and help build a more connected, sustainable future.”
