Emirates has launched its new Comprehensive Travel Insurance programme, in a step aimed at enhancing the customer experience and giving travellers greater peace of mind when planning their journeys. The programme brings together expanded insurance benefits and direct support services provided by the airline throughout different stages of travel.
The airline explained that the new programme includes a wide range of coverage, including medical expenses related to accidents caused by conflicts, in addition to hotel accommodation and assistance services in cases of disruption or delays that may affect travel plans.
Support Until Passengers Reach Their Final Destination
One of the key features of the Comprehensive Travel Insurance programme is that Emirates will continue to support customers until they reach their final destinations, even in situations where Emirates flights are not available, or when passengers’ travel plans include flights operated by other airlines.
In such cases, the airline will work to rebook travellers on alternative flights at no extra cost. This also applies to cases where flights are cancelled due to circumstances or events linked to conflicts.
Wider Insurance Coverage in Partnership with Travel Guard
The new programme gives passengers added confidence from the moment they book their flights, by expanding medical coverage under the insurance product offered in partnership with Travel Guard, along with an additional package of support services provided by Emirates.
The insurance also includes compensation for flight cancellations, delayed or lost baggage, and unlimited coverage for medical expenses and emergency medical evacuation worldwide, in addition to other benefits designed to reduce the impact of unexpected situations on the travel experience.
Coverage for incidents related to conflicts includes compensation for medical expenses of up to $25,000, with the possibility of extending the trip for up to 30 days at no additional charge. Emirates noted that this coverage is not linked to government travel advisories or warnings.
Available Through Emirates’ Website
The Comprehensive Travel Insurance programme is available at a competitive cost. Customers can purchase it through the Emirates website while booking their flights, or add it to existing bookings through the Manage Booking service.
The airline pointed out that coverage and availability may vary from one market to another, with terms and conditions applying. It also clarified that some support services are provided as part of Emirates’ own services and are not part of the insurance benefits themselves.
Tim Clark: Travellers Are Looking for More Comprehensive Solutions
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates, said that customer feedback showed travel demand remains strong, while the need for more comprehensive and flexible travel insurance solutions has become increasingly important for many passengers.
He added that Emirates developed the product to meet customer expectations and provide higher levels of protection and reassurance. He noted that the partnership with Travel Guard helped deliver a product that combines flexibility and broad coverage for a wider range of possible circumstances.
Clark also said that, as demand for travel continues to be strong during the summer season, the airline is working to provide more confidence and flexibility for passengers planning trips to and through Dubai.
A Partnership That Raises Travel Protection Standards
Russell Antonio, Head of Global Business and Partnerships at Travel Guard, said the partnership with Emirates is based on a shared commitment to improving the customer experience. He added that the new product offers an advanced level of protection that meets the needs of today’s travellers.
Alongside this programme, Emirates continues to provide hotel accommodation managed directly by its teams during operational disruptions, including airspace closures. The airline also offers other customer-focused benefits, such as the option to change travel dates without fees on certain tickets, and a 24-hour fare hold service at no charge.
Markets Currently Covered by the Programme
The Comprehensive Travel Insurance programme is currently available in several markets, including the UAE, the United Kingdom, Bahrain, Kuwait, Canada, Singapore, New Zealand, South Africa, and a number of European countries such as Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, Greece, Portugal, Poland, Ireland, Malta, Cyprus, Czechia, and Hungary.
