Dubai World Trade Centre, in partnership with Dubai Sports Council, has announced the return of Dubai Sports World for its 16th edition, strengthening its position as the largest indoor sports destination in the region during the summer season. The event brings together a wide range of sports competitions, community activities, fitness experiences, and programs designed for different age groups.
The event will run from June 19 through August 25, 2026, with Dubai Sports World open daily from 8:00 a.m. to midnight. Over 68 days, Dubai residents and visitors will be able to enjoy sports and fitness activities in a comfortable, air-conditioned indoor setting.
The initiative aims to encourage the community to adopt a more active lifestyle by offering a variety of sports facilities suitable for amateurs, professionals, and families, especially during the summer months when indoor venues become an important option for physical activity.
A Wide Range of Sports and a Free Fitness Facility
This year’s edition features a broad selection of sports, including basketball, badminton, cricket, soccer, padel, pickleball, table tennis, tennis, and volleyball. This variety gives visitors the chance to practice their favorite sports or try something new.
Dubai Sports World also offers a free gym equipped with modern cardio machines, dedicated functional training areas, and strength training facilities. This gives visitors access to a complete fitness experience within the event without paying additional fees.
A Dedicated Area for Children
The event also includes a special children’s zone called Dubai Kids World, a supervised entertainment area featuring large inflatable slides, obstacle courses, adventure zones, and a dedicated arts and crafts corner.
This area gives children a safe and engaging environment that combines movement and entertainment, allowing them to spend active and enjoyable time while families benefit from the variety of activities available inside the venue.
Indoor Running and Walking Track
One of the key facilities at Dubai Sports World is a one-kilometer indoor track designed for running and walking. It allows participants to keep up with their daily activity, whether through light walking, running, or tracking their steps, all in a cool and comfortable indoor setting.
Orienteering Added to This Year’s Program
The 2026 edition will also introduce orienteering as part of the activities program, in partnership with the Emirates Orienteering Federation. This sport combines physical activity with navigation skills, using a compass, map reading, and problem-solving challenges.
Orienteering is suitable for different age groups and fitness levels. It offers an interactive experience that helps participants develop focus, decision-making, and exploration skills, along with the physical side of the activity.
Key Highlights in the Event Calendar
Dubai Sports World’s schedule includes several main highlights, starting with the official opening on June 19, followed by the opening weekend on June 20 and 21. The program will also include activities marking International Yoga Day on June 21.
Another major highlight is DSW Run IN, scheduled for June 27. The race marks the second edition of Dubai’s first indoor half marathon and is expected to be one of the key events for running enthusiasts. The program will continue with the Dubai Sports World Summer League on August 8, before the event officially concludes on August 25.
17 Academies to Train Children
As part of its focus on developing young sports talent, Dubai Sports World is partnering this year with 17 specialized academies to offer training programs for children ages 4 to 14, under the supervision of qualified coaches and experts across several sports.
The participating academies cover a variety of sports, including soccer, basketball, badminton, cricket, volleyball, tennis, cycling, and multi-sport activities. These programs help children discover their abilities and develop their skills in an organized training environment.
