His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him, said through his official account on the social media platform X:
“Today marks the 60th anniversary of the accession of our Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, to the leadership of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi on 6 August 1966.”
His Highness continued:
“It was a historic milestone that marked the beginning of our comprehensive development journey, laid the foundations for building the modern state, and paved the way for the establishment of our Union. This was made possible by his wise leadership and inspiring vision, which was founded on the belief that developing people is the fundamental pillar of nation-building and the basis of its progress and prosperity. We will continue to follow in his footsteps, draw inspiration from his vision, and carry forward his journey, generation after generation.”
