Dubai Municipality has opened a new 102-meter bridge at Mushrif National Park, adding a new feature that enhances the mountain biking experience and provides a safer, more connected route through Dubai’s largest forest, while further strengthening the park’s position as one of the emirate’s leading natural and recreational destinations.
The bridge marks an important step forward for mountain biking at the park, connecting sections of the trail that were previously separated. Riders can now continue their journey without having to stop or cross a road used by vehicles, helping create a more seamless and safer experience.
A More Connected and Safer Route for Cyclists
The new bridge improves the connectivity of mountain biking trails at Mushrif National Park, allowing visitors to move more smoothly between different sections of the route while enhancing safety and comfort throughout the journey.
The bridge features two dedicated paths, one for mountain bikers and another for pedestrians. This separation helps organize movement between different trail users while improving safety and ensuring smoother access across the wider network of routes within the park.
The mountain biking journey across the bridge extends for a total distance of 182 meters, forming part of a continuous route that offers riders an easier and more enjoyable experience surrounded by nature.
An Experience Combining Sports and Nature
The significance of the project goes beyond the addition of a new piece of infrastructure. It introduces a different outdoor experience that combines adventure, physical activity, and nature through a continuous journey across the natural landscape of Mushrif National Park.
The project is part of Dubai Municipality’s ongoing efforts to further develop the park as an integrated destination for outdoor recreation, sports activities, and adventures that encourage active and healthy lifestyles.
It also responds to the growing popularity of mountain biking, walking, and nature-based activities by providing purpose-built infrastructure designed to make these experiences safer, easier, and more enjoyable for visitors.
Mushrif Park Is One of Dubai’s Leading Green Destinations
With its extensive green spaces, Mushrif National Park is Dubai’s largest forest and one of the emirate’s most prominent green and recreational destinations.
The park attracts families, mountain bikers, walking and fitness enthusiasts, and nature explorers, supported by its diverse facilities and the variety of outdoor experiences available to different groups of visitors.
The new bridge further strengthens the infrastructure dedicated to mountain biking and walking while improving access and movement between the park’s trails and natural areas.
Dubai Municipality Continues to Develop Recreational Facilities
Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said: “The new bridge represents a qualitative addition to Mushrif National Park, elevating the mountain biking experience by providing continuous connectivity between the two sections of the trail, offering a safe, seamless, and enjoyable experience in the heart of one of Dubai’s most distinctive natural environments.”
He added: “Our approach to developing Mushrif National Park goes beyond simply adding and upgrading facilities; we are working to provide an integrated outdoor recreational destination that brings together adventure, nature, and active lifestyles. This bridge adds an entirely new experience to Dubai’s largest forest, giving the emirate’s residents and visitors a distinctive route through which to explore the park and enjoy the diverse experiences it offers.”
The project reflects Dubai’s broader approach to developing parks and public spaces in ways that bring together outdoor recreation, physical activity, and healthy lifestyles, while continuing to improve the quality and diversity of experiences available to residents and visitors.
