The UAE Ministry of Defense organized a seminar titled “Women in the Defense Sector” to celebrate Emirati Women’s Day and highlight the achievements and contributions of Emirati women across various fields of national service, particularly in defense. The event also showcased their growing role in serving the nation.
The seminar coincided with the 50th anniversary of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces and formed part of the country’s Emirati Women’s Day celebrations, held under the theme “We Will Emerge Stronger and Better.”
The celebrations will continue throughout an entire month under the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the “Mother of the Nation,” Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation.
Emirati Women as Key Partners in Developing the Defense Sector
The seminar’s sessions highlighted the progress Emirati women have made in the defense sector over the years. Their journey has evolved from initial military training and qualification to more specialized fields and positions of greater responsibility, where they have demonstrated their competence and ability to contribute effectively to the defense system.
