Dubai in August: Summer Surprises, Global Concerts, and Experiences for Everyone

Dubai is unveiling an exceptional program of events and activities throughout August, further strengthening its position as a leading global destination for tourism and entertainment all year round. The Dubai Calendar includes dozens of experiences covering shopping, dining, live music, sports, and family activities.

Dubai Summer Surprises

These events are being held as part of Dubai Summer Surprises, which continues through August 30, giving residents and visitors a wide range of options designed for different ages and interests. The program also allows them to enjoy a summer filled with experiences across air-conditioned venues and indoor attractions.

During the summer months, Dubai continues to make full use of its advanced infrastructure, indoor halls, and enclosed entertainment destinations to maintain tourism activity and host events despite the higher temperatures. This reflects the city’s ability to offer complete and enjoyable experiences throughout the year.

The diversity of the program also reflects Dubai’s strategy to strengthen its position as a vibrant city, supported by an annual calendar featuring more than 1,200 events across culture, the arts, sports, shopping, and entertainment.

These events contribute to improving quality of life, supporting the tourism sector, and attracting visitors from markets around the world. They are also aligned with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to reinforce the emirate’s status as one of the world’s best cities in which to live, work, and visit.

Diverse Promotional Offers

Dubai Summer Surprises remains the leading event throughout August, with discounts and promotional offers continuing across participating shopping malls and retail outlets, alongside prize draws, hotel deals, and family-friendly entertainment activities.

Major brands are offering a variety of shopping experiences across the emirate, further enhancing Dubai’s appeal as one of the region’s leading retail destinations, particularly during the summer season, when competitive prices are combined with entertainment and seasonal promotions.

In the dining sector, Summer Restaurant Week continues through August 2, with more than 50 restaurants offering specially created menus at attractive prices.

The initiative gives food lovers the opportunity to discover a wide range of international cuisines and explore new dining destinations, reflecting the remarkable diversity of Dubai’s culinary scene.

Live Music Concerts

August will feature a series of live music concerts bringing together leading artists from the Arab world and Asia as part of a diverse entertainment program designed to appeal to a wide audience.

The month begins with a performance by Syrian singer Rasha Rizk as part of Beat the Heat, while Rami Gamal and Wael Jassar will come together for an Arabic music evening expected to attract fans of romantic songs.

The calendar also includes concerts by Al Shami, Marwan Moussa, Halim, Talal Sam, Sultan Al Murshed, Aziz Maraka, BigSam, and Lege-Cy, in addition to the return of Kuwait’s Miami Band with its new show, Miami 3.0.

Coca-Cola Arena will host several leading names from the Indian music scene, including Lucky Ali, as well as other performances aimed at Asian communities living in the United Arab Emirates.

Comedy fans will also have plenty to enjoy, with The Laughter Factory presenting performances by international comedians and artists based in the UAE, alongside live shows by Sunil Grover, Rami Jaber, and Atul Khatri.

This variety highlights Dubai’s ability to deliver multicultural entertainment that combines music, comedy, and live performances while appealing to residents and visitors from different backgrounds.

Cultural and creative events are also an important part of the August calendar. The GPX Entertainment Exhibition will celebrate Japanese culture through anime shows, video games, workshops, and interactive activities.

Hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the exhibition will offer an experience that brings together entertainment, creativity, and technology while attracting fans of anime, gaming, and Japanese culture.

Sports Events

August will also see strong activity across the sports sector, including indoor running races at Ibn Battuta Mall, giving participants the chance to stay active in a comfortable, air-conditioned environment.

Dubai Sports World will continue welcoming sports and fitness enthusiasts at one of the region’s largest indoor sports destinations, offering courts and facilities dedicated to a wide range of team and individual sports.

The Dubai Mallathon initiative will also continue through mid-September, providing air-conditioned walking and running routes inside shopping malls and encouraging members of the community to remain physically active during the summer months.

The month will conclude with the launch of the first edition of the Endurance Games, which will bring together a number of fitness competitions and multi-challenge sports, offering participants an energetic experience that tests strength, speed, and stamina.
