The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, represented by the Digital Services Sector, has launched the smart conversation system “Iqama GPT”, the first internal platform based on generative artificial intelligence technologies to serve the directorate’s employees and authorized users.

This step comes as part of Dubai GDRFA’s efforts to strengthen digital transformation and adopt modern technological solutions that contribute to developing the government work environment, improving performance efficiency, and enhancing institutional readiness for the future.

“Iqama GPT” represents a qualitative addition to the use of artificial intelligence within the workplace, as it allows employees to benefit from an interactive digital platform that supports them in carrying out their daily tasks, answering inquiries, preparing and improving content, summarizing documents, extracting key points, and generating ideas and outlines.

The platform also supports the explanation of technical content and policies in simplified language, and helps improve texts in both Arabic and English. This provides employees with a practical tool that helps organize work, save time, and reach clearer and more accurate results.

Colonel Expert Khaled bin Madia Al Falasi, Assistant Director General for the Digital Services Sector at the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, affirmed that the launch of “Iqama GPT” reflects the directorate’s vision to adopt future technologies that contribute to developing the government work system.

He pointed out that artificial intelligence has become an important tool for enhancing employees’ capabilities and enabling them to work in more efficient and innovative ways, explaining that technology at Dubai GDRFA is viewed as an enabler of people, not a replacement for them.

He added that the directorate is keen to employ artificial intelligence solutions in a way that supports its teams and provides them with smarter tools to improve performance and speed up completion, while maintaining high levels of accuracy and responsibility in the work environment.

For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ghaleb Abdullah Al Marri, Executive Director of Artificial Intelligence at the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, explained that the launch of the platform comes within a plan to develop innovative solutions that rely on the latest generative artificial intelligence technologies to support internal work.

He noted that “Iqama GPT” was developed according to advanced standards and policies for information security and protection, ensuring the safe and responsible use of modern technologies and strengthening confidence in the use of artificial intelligence within the institution.

The platform provides a flexible user experience that enables employees to start smart conversations, manage the history of previous conversations, and easily return to completed work. It also offers practical guidance that helps users formulate their requests more clearly in order to obtain accurate and effective results.

The launch of “Iqama GPT” confirms Dubai GDRFA’s continued efforts to build a smarter and more proactive work environment that combines technological innovation with reliability, while supporting employees with modern tools that enhance creativity and improve the quality of institutional performance.
