Dubai Municipality has launched the “Dubai Historical Doors” at Dubai International Airport, in partnership with the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai and Dubai Airports, introducing an innovative interactive platform that brings together the richness of the past and the vision of the future while offering travelers an integrated visual and cultural experience that reflects Dubai’s identity and its message of welcoming visitors from around the world.
The initiative turns the moment of arrival in Dubai into the beginning of a journey through part of the emirate’s history and architectural heritage. It features models inspired by traditional doors once found in homes, markets, and historic neighborhoods, which for many years formed an authentic part of the city’s social and architectural character.
Dubai Historical Doors Welcomes Travelers Until September 7
From August 20 through September 7, 2026, the “Dubai Historical Doors” experience transforms into a cultural gateway welcoming visitors at Dubai International Airport through a collection of authentic heritage doors that bring elements of the emirate’s architectural memory to life.
The experience recreates traditional doors that once distinguished the homes and markets of some of Dubai’s oldest historic districts, particularly Al Shindagha, Al Fahidi, and Deira, areas that hold significant historical and cultural importance in the emirate’s development.
The initiative includes several notable historic examples, including the door of Sheikh Saeed’s House, displayed in Arrivals Terminal 3, giving travelers an opportunity to see one of the distinctive elements of local architecture and discover part of the heritage that helped shape Dubai’s identity.
A Cultural Passage Connecting Dubai’s Past and Present
