Dubai Electricity and Water Authority “DEWA” has had 11 of its initiatives and practices recognized by the International Best Practice Competition “IBPC” as global best practices, after receiving advanced ratings ranging from 5 to 7 stars.

The achievement reflects the strength of DEWA’s institutional excellence system and its continuous efforts to develop practical solutions in innovation, sustainability, and operational efficiency.

During the recognition ceremony, Dr. Robin Mann, Chairman of the International Best Practice Competition, honored HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, in appreciation of his leadership role in strengthening a culture of institutional excellence and enabling the authority to achieve a distinguished position internationally.

The ceremony also honored 11 DEWA teams that contributed to developing the participating practices. All submitted practices received global accreditation, with five practices achieving a 7-star rating, three practices receiving 6 stars, and three others earning 5 stars.

A Success that Strengthens DEWA’s Position

Dr. Robin Mann praised DEWA’s achievement in the first best-practice accreditation program within the International Best Practice Competition. He noted that having 11 practices rated five stars or higher clearly demonstrates the level of excellence and innovation reached by the authority.

Five Practices Receive 7 Stars

The practices that received a 7-star rating included several advanced systems and projects, among them the smart control system for gas turbines in the Generation division, and the interactive smart “Reeh Hub” platform for self-assessment of photovoltaic solar energy system designs in the Power and Water Planning division.

Three Practices Receive 6 Stars

The practices awarded 6 stars included the foresight and future-shaping framework, which supports the readiness of the energy and water sectors for future changes, as well as a data-driven methodology for measuring the effectiveness of corporate training.

This category also included the unified and digitally enhanced design of 132 kV substations, reflecting DEWA’s focus on proactive planning, capability development, and improving power infrastructure in line with best standards.
