The Higher Committee for Agentic AI organized the “AI Technologies and Data Track” workshop, bringing together government leaders, chief AI officers, and representatives of government entities as part of national efforts to accelerate the adoption of Agentic AI technologies and strengthen integration across the government.
The workshop focused on enabling government entities to build an integrated technology and data ecosystem that supports government transformation objectives and enhances the readiness of federal institutions to develop and adopt Agentic AI solutions within a unified, secure, and scalable environment.
A Proactive Government Model Powered by Artificial Intelligence
His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and Head of the AI Technologies and Data Track, affirmed that the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership has established a proactive government model that makes the deployment of future technologies a cornerstone for developing government work, enhancing its readiness, enabling it to keep pace with global changes, and shaping a more efficient and flexible future. He noted that the Agentic AI project embodies this vision by launching the world’s first comprehensive government-wide movement of its kind to adopt Agentic AI technologies across the government.
This direction reflects the UAE’s commitment to moving artificial intelligence technologies from limited applications toward an integrated government model in which intelligent tools are embedded across operations, services, and decision-making, helping improve efficiency, flexibility, and responsiveness.
His Excellency said that the AI Technologies and Data Track workshop aims to unify visions, strengthen integration among government entities, and accelerate the readiness of technological enablers and data. This supports a systematic transition toward the adoption of Agentic AI and advances the project’s goal of transforming 50% of government sectors, operations, and services over the next two years, further reinforcing the UAE’s leadership in building an AI-driven government.
Transforming 50% of Sectors and Services Within Two Years
The target of transforming 50% of government sectors, operations, and services within two years is one of the main pillars of the Agentic AI project, reflecting the UAE’s ambition to develop a more advanced government model that uses modern technologies to improve performance and service quality.
The project seeks to enable a systematic shift toward operating models based on Agentic AI, helping improve the efficiency of government procedures, enhance customer experiences, support faster decision-making, and create an environment that is better equipped to keep pace with rapid technological developments.
An Integrated Technology and Data Infrastructure
The workshop reviewed the Agentic AI project and its five main tracks, as well as the scope of the AI Technologies and Data Track and the requirements related to data governance, infrastructure, technical needs, platforms, and tools.
It also addressed the importance of integrating government systems to ensure that entities are ready to adopt Agentic AI models and systems, enabling a transition toward a more connected and efficient operating environment while strengthening their ability to benefit from data and technology within a unified framework.
Developing data capabilities and technical infrastructure is a fundamental component of the project’s success, given their role in enabling intelligent systems to operate effectively and supporting government entities in developing scalable and integrated solutions.
Unified Standards for Evaluating Agentic AI Systems
The workshop also discussed the classification standards for Agentic AI systems, along with a self-assessment mechanism based on a set of technical and operational criteria designed to determine the extent to which systems align with the concept of Agentic AI.
These standards contribute to unifying implementation methodologies across government entities, strengthening governance, and ensuring the safe and responsible use of emerging technologies, while providing a clear reference framework to help entities evaluate systems and solutions before adopting them.
FedAI and a Unified National Gateway for Artificial Intelligence
The workshop showcased the Federal Agentic AI Technology Ecosystem, “FedAI,” which serves as the unified technical infrastructure for adopting and developing Agentic AI solutions across federal government entities.
The ecosystem gives government entities access to a range of leading artificial intelligence platforms through the “National AI Gateway,” which provides a unified and secure access point for managing and operating applications and services.
This model is expected to strengthen integration between government entities and simplify access to platforms and solutions while maintaining security and governance requirements within a unified federal framework.
Greater Flexibility in the Use of AI Models
The ecosystem also includes an Agentic AI “Inference Layer,” which enables government entities to benefit from commercial models as well as sovereign-hosted open-source models.
The layer also allows future models to be added, providing government entities with greater flexibility while supporting scalability and ensuring the ecosystem can keep pace with rapid advances in artificial intelligence.
This approach gives federal entities broader options for adopting solutions that best meet their needs while supporting digital sovereignty requirements and maintaining the long-term flexibility of the ecosystem.
Technology Sector Partnerships to Support Transformation
The workshop emphasized the importance of developing the technology environment, data capabilities, and institutional capacity required to enable government entities to adopt Agentic AI solutions, helping improve the efficiency of government operations, raise the quality of services, and support faster decision-making.
The workshop also showcased more than 10 technology vendors and companies supporting the transformation toward Agentic AI applications, highlighting the importance of partnerships with the technology sector in gaining access to advanced solutions and specialized expertise.
Such collaboration contributes to accelerating the readiness of government entities and expanding the range of available solutions, supporting the implementation of the project’s objectives in line with leading technical and operational practices.
Five Tracks Driving the Agentic AI Project
The Agentic AI project is one of the main pillars of the UAE Government 4.0 journey, which seeks to deliver a major transformation in the government operating model through the use of Agentic AI technologies across government operations, services, and sectors.
The project is built around five main tracks: Operations and Corporate Support, Strategic Government Work, Government Services, AI Technologies and Data, and Capacity Building and Training.
The integration of these tracks supports a comprehensive transformation covering technology infrastructure, data, services, and operations, while also developing the human capabilities required to work effectively with new tools and technologies.
UAE Reinforces Its Leadership in Designing the Government of the Future
The UAE’s new government ecosystem, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, “may God protect him,” was announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” and is overseen by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court. It aims to transform 50% of government sectors, services, and operations into operating models based on Agentic AI within two years.
The target represents a step considered the first of its kind globally and is designed to enhance the efficiency of government performance, improve the quality and effectiveness of services, increase their positive impact on customers, and reinforce the UAE’s leadership in designing the governments of the future.
The “AI Technologies and Data Track” is one of the principal tracks within the UAE Government’s Agentic AI project. It is headed by His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, and focuses on developing and implementing the technical requirements needed to ensure the readiness and maturity of the national technology ecosystem and infrastructure.
The track also works to enable federal entities to develop and adopt Agentic AI models and systems, supporting the goal of transforming 50% of government sectors, operations, and services into Agentic AI-based operating models within two years and further strengthening the UAE’s position among the world’s leading countries in using artificial intelligence to build more efficient and proactive governments.
