Dubai Safari Park has officially opened registration for the second edition of its environmental competition, “Wildlife Innovators”, inviting students across the UAE to design inventions made from recycled materials. The goal: to safeguard wildlife by addressing issues like pollution and habitat loss.
What the Initiative Is About
Students are encouraged to transform reused or recycled items into sustainable inventions. Examples could be water collectors, animal feeding bowls, shelters for wild animals, or other tools that help wildlife thrive.
Entries are expected to both solve an environmental challenge and protect wildlife, especially threatened natural habitats.
How It Works
Once registration closes, teams will have one month to develop their idea into a working prototype or model.
Finalist teams will get a chance to exhibit their inventions at Dubai Safari Park around November.
Along the way, participating teams will be mentored by experts — including veterinarians and wildlife specialists — who will provide guidance and support.
Who’s Involved
The competition is organized by Dubai Safari Park, with support from the Environment & Climate Change Authority.
Among the advisors are Dr. Murad Mustafa, head of the veterinary hospital at the park, and Scott Chambers, curator of animals. These experts will help participants refine their designs and ensure they are wildlife‑friendly.
Important Dates & How to Apply
Schools and student teams can register via email at education@dubaisafari.ae
The deadline for submitting registrations is 30 September 2025.
After that, there is the design and build phase, leading up to the November showcase of finalists.
This competition offers more than a prize — it gives young people the chance to make a real difference. Students get to apply their creativity, deepen their understanding of environmental issues, and help protect wildlife. If you’re a student, teacher, or school looking for a project that matters, this could be the perfect opportunity.
